I was standing in line at Wal-Mart waiting to have some keys made. A woman in front of me chose to have her entire grocery basket checked out at the same time while she paid for some tire work. You learn a lot about life standing in these lines. Well I patiently waited and just as she was finishing a black guy came up to the counter. The clerk finished with the lady and then looked at the black guy to help him. The black guy pointed to me, whom the clerk couldn’t have helped to have seen, and asked me what I needed.
While the clerk was making my keys I asked the black guy if he knew why the clerk asked to help him first, he had an embarrassed smile as he said he did. We both laughed together.
