The Patient Robin

One nice feature of our house here in Sparta is a body length window that faces south. It comfortably takes in the sun’s rays during clear winter days. As Spring approached I watched from that window the Robins come and struggle with some string to build their nests. I say struggle because the string was tied to a screw I had placed to tie up my tomato plants from the gardening year that had passed. Each day the Robin tried and failed. You would have thought that the Robin would give up and move on, but no. Undeterred the Robin tried time and time again. The time came for me to work up the soil for this year’s garden. I took notice of the string and took the time to untie it from its anchor and then cut it up into small pieces. The Robin came and pulled and, just as if it was meant to be, the string flew away with the Robin to be a part of its nest.

Luke 11:9-10

Keep Asking, Seeking, Knocking
(Matt 7:7-11)

9 "So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.  10 For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.
