Name that Feeling

Here is an article by Victor David Hanson that gets close to identifying the spiritual malaise of the country. The reason behind the reasons for what he feels is that we are a nation that has rejected God: Isa 5:20-24

20 Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil;

Who put darkness for light, and light for darkness;

Who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

21 Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes,

And prudent in their own sight!

22 Woe to men mighty at drinking wine,

Woe to men valiant for mixing intoxicating drink,

23 Who justify the wicked for a bribe,

And take away justice from the righteous man!

24 Therefore, as the fire devours the stubble,

And the flame consumes the chaff,

So their root will be as rottenness,

And their blossom will ascend like dust;

Because they have rejected the law of the LORD of hosts,

And despised the word of the Holy One of Israel.

    Its amazing that in my lifetime,( im 41 ), that ive seen this played out. I can remember when it was a reproach to be homosexual, at least in the publice eye, when the occult was a fearful thing and was also rejected, I could go on and on, but now its acceptable to be a pervert, at least in the media,(will & grace, broke back mountain, etc.), the occult is also a welcomed thing,( harry potter,ghost whisperer, etc.). These are but 2 things in a long list, if Jesus should tarry, what will it be like in 20 or 30 years? As christians, we have to stand in this generation, whether its on a street-corner preaching, or being a right example in our realm of influence. If not standing, and socially accepting these things can produce what were seeing, how much more will happen if we with the help of the Holy Spirit, strive to see these things reversed.

    Its like we are watching the frog in the boiling water, not realizing it is us.
