We had a parent tea at our house this last Saturday. It went really well. We had about 70 people come from all of our churches. These events are a lot of fun. There is some work involved, but it usually turns out to be a great experience. We were very used to having a open home and we were not sure how it would work out here in Zambia. I enjoyed being invited to people’s houses who had views that looked over the sound in Seattle and people enjoy coming here and visiting in our garden area. We set up chairs and benches in the shade of the garden and we have Joan’s group of 5 serve us scones, coffee and tea. The focus of this tea party was parenting and all parents were invited including single mothers.
Our Sunday school carried on with the parenting theme as we looked at David’s example as a parent. It was a Sunday school on what not to do.
