BBC “good” news

Just heard a little snippet from BBC to pass on. BBC is normally very anti-American in tone and topic. My family has trouble listening to BBC. The church has to come to terms with the description of Americans that they receive via BBC and the reality of the family that lives here with them. It is fun challenging their stereotypes. So today, (I’m not sure of the circumstances of the broadcast) a BBC correspondent for the US said some wonderful things about the US. He talked about hope, confidence, opinionated, free, prosperous and a contagious can do attitude that makes nothing seem impossible. I could hardly believe my ears. His closing remark went something like this: “the world has a lot more to learn from American than it has to fear from America”. Very encouraging words to hear as an American in Africa.
